Family Counselling Centre to Open
The former hospitality centre in 440 Cape Road is currently undergoing a refurbishing as we gear up for a new phase of ministry. The huge house that boasts 7 rooms, 4 bathrooms a lounge and dining room with an exquisite kitchen, laundry room and spectacular garden, will become a family counselling centre.
Rev Paul, who is furthering his studies in counselling will co-spearhead the family counselling centre with Dr Bruce. Rev Kenneth, who is an experienced drug
counsellor will co-spearhead the life recovery programme with Dr Bruce. Bruce, Paul and Kenneth are registered licensed counsellors with the S.A. Counsellors Association.
The main house at 440 Cape Road will accommodate a reception and offices for daily counselling sessions. Support groups for bi-polar, grief, attention deficit disorders, teenage crises, depression, marriage and a host of other needs will be included in our counselling schedule.
The former “step-down” section of the premises will run daily sessions for recoverees, similar to our Graceland programme. Graceland has moved from Theesecombe and continues to provide help for drug dependants. We hope to make an enormous difference in the lives of people who desperately need good
sound Christian counselling and spiritual guidance. We also hope to have a medical doctor and psychologist, occupational therapist and other specialists on call with a registered nursing sister on site.
Our nurse will also be available to do house calls for members of St Marks who may require her nursing skills and advice.
St Marks is moving forward with a momentum inspired by God’s spirit. We are making a difference. Your prayers and loving support is a blessing. Thank you.
