Ambassadors Represent Their Country in a Foreign Land
God’s leaders are only as effective as the quality of their relationship with Him. Our aim this year is to develop a strong and committed lay-leadership that will act as representatives in the community. In the next 3 months many more home groups will open as a forum to learn what it means to be an AMBASSADOR for Christ. The programme will be presented on DVD and screened at the home groups and facilitated by AMBASSADORS in training. Smaller groups make it easier to engage in discussion and, thereby optimise the opportunity to learn and study the Word.
The venues will be advertised weekly and we encourage you to attend the sessions on Wednesday nights. Our vision, in terms of home groups and Christian leadership, is to have at least 100 home groups functioning throughout the city by 2020. Ideally the home groups will consist of no more than 12 people in attendance who recognise the need to be totally committed to the Lord.
We need to pray for each other and get excited about what it means to be called of God to represent His cause in our world. 2 Corinthians 5:18 reminds us that we have been reconciled to God and that Christ Jesus our Lord has given us the ministry of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:20 refers to believers as His AMBASSADORS. We represent Christ in the world.
People outside the church need to be informed of the work and purpose of the ministry at St Marks. Our AMBASSADORS will be officially commissioned to hold this position as representatives of our church and we hope to impact the lives of people in our church community.
