The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel.
Proverbs 1:1

Too often we view God as someone detached from practical living here on earth – a mysterious being in a spiritual world. On the contrary God designed planet earth and every creature on it.

A Christmas Season for Your Soul
Date: Jan 2012

As the festive season takes centre stage and the sounds of Christmas carols are heard, we hear the laughter of family, friends and see the excitement of children as they unwrap their Christmas presents with anticipated joy. Let us not forget those who suffer most this Christmas time, because of an empty chair once filled by a departed loved one. The Christmas season gives hope to the human soul. It should remind us that because God loves the world He sent His Son to be born in a lowly stable and to live and die so that all mankind could be given the opportunity to be saved. An outward look reveals the colour and radiance of the Christmas season. Even unbelievers who deny Christ access to their souls, bathe in the atmosphere that the festive season brings. It is an astonishing fact that the atheist who owns his own business looks forward to Christmas. The jolly season affords him the opportunity to “cash in” and to line his own pockets at the believer‟s expense. For those of us who believe Christmas is a season of the soul, we know it refreshes us. It gives joy, it promotes a new start, it stimulates creative thoughts, it provides time with those we love. The season brings the old year with all its mistakes, sadness, defeats and fears to a close and opens the New Year with challenges and blessings. Remember OUTLOOK determines OUTCOME. If your outward look is negative the chances are that your outcome will produce thorns and thistles. But if you „sow seeds” of optimism and faith when harvest comes the fruit of joy will be reaped. Use the season to sow seeds of goodwill, peace, faith, hope and love. You can now face the future with confidence and renewed assurance that God will bless you and prosper you this Christmas season and in the New Year you will reap the harvest. Start sowing NOW!
