ST MARKS CHURCH 25TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS | "His name shall endure forever. All nations shall call Him Blesseed." Psalm 72:17 The birth of St Marks in the Western Suburbs of our city some 25 years ago was painful and stressful. Critics and sceptics gave our church little or no chance of survival. The odds were stacked against us. There were no funds, no building and no support structures. A very small group of men and women believed that Sandy and I could successfully lead them to do the impossible with God’s help and blessing. At the time I held down a nine hour day job with Tedelex. We lived in a tiny flat and struggled to make ends meet. We had some difficulties to overcome. The most difficult of all was getting people to believe that we were serious about starting a church in Westering. We resolved some time ago to ignore the critics and do it God’s way. The Lord in His great wisdom and providence sent us our first members: George & Margaret Flack (deceased), Les & Ivy Saayman Marion George (deceased), Corrie & Alida Rademeyer (deceased), Marie O’Connell (deceased), Jack O’Connell Snr., Jane Oelofse, Di & the late Ronnie Wilson, Ruth and Lovel Mey and Lauren Vice. Within months of starting we witnessed souls being saved and some former associates of my early ministry in Walmer “re-joining” us. Wally & Shirley Britton, Marie Jackson, Peter & Elsabe du Plessis, Herbie & Jean Janion, Les & Jean Montgomery, the late Roy & Sally Tuck and the late Peter & Maud Hugo, were among many who re-ignited the fires of interest in the St Marks ministry. Please join us for as many of the celebration events as possible, as we give our Lord and God all the praise for the great things He has done. | by Bruce Woolard |
Our monthly Voice newsletter is distributed to each member and adherehent family. Families are encouraged to collect their Voice Newsletter from the entrance of the Church at the end of each month.

"There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in the one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."
Ephesians 4:4-6
