The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel.
Proverbs 1:1
Too often we view God as someone detached from practical living here on earth – a mysterious being in a spiritual world. On the contrary God designed planet earth and every creature on it.

The jolly season is over and the reality of life in this new year has arrived. The claim to being happy seems so frivilous because it is so fragile. The question of “How to be happy” is relative. A dog with a bone is happy, a canary in a cage may chirp and whistle because it’s happy. A child may express the glee of happiness because of the prospect of mom buying an ice cream for him or her. But true happiness is more than “getting something.” How can we be happy when life is so unpredictable.
Has life lost its zest for you like flat coke loses its fizz? Do you feel that you’re merely existing and that life is passing you by? It is a fact that more people today suffer “low mood syndrome” than any other time in human history. There are many reasons for this malady, notwithstanding societies demands on being hip and relevant. I, me and my have become the “three” most import factors in life. Living a self-absorbed life robs you of the values that inspire happiness. A self centred life will leave you feeling empty.
The Christian message cuts across the worlds perspective of happiness.
As a believer you are happy because ……….
- God has set you free from a life that was ego-centric and self focused.
- You are forgiven and saved from a self destructive lifestyle.
- You have a new identity and purpose in life.
- A new life and new Spirit now fills your being.
- You are a citizen of heaven. Registered and sealed as a co-heir with Christ.
- You are happy because ……….
- your life is driven by a new energy. Your life is now Christo-centric and spiritual values have replaced the old style of thinking and behaving.
In Christ you are blessed (made happy) with all spiritual blessings – Ephesians 1:3 – asserts this Truth. It is this fact that enables us to rejoice and be glad. Contentment and happiness is yours to enjoy.
