When It Gets Dark
Date: 18 Dec 2011

As the excitement of the Christmas season gains momentum and we are forced to step back from the hustle and bustle of routine work, we reflect on the amazing miracle of God wrapping Himself in human flesh. Candles burn brighter when the darkness intensifies. When the sun sets and darkness falls we reach out to switch the light on.

So it was with Christ’s firstcoming. The world faced eternal darkness and the human cause seemed hopeless. The cry of a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes shattered the silence in a stable in Bethlehem. The dark clouds of despair were rolled up like a scroll and light broke fourth. Jesus was born to give hope to every family in crisis. He was born to ignite the flame of faith within the human spirit so that all who trust in Him shall have eternal life. So we greet His arrival this Christmas with joy.

Don’t worry about all the hype and anxiety that the season brings; let the miracle of Christmas bring the light of happiness, love and peace.
