Trees that Grow
Date: 11 Dec 2011

As a tree grows from a tiny seed so our faith, as small as a mustard seed, can grow and produce sweet fruit and shade for the weary and lost.

In this season of festivity each one of us should reflect on God’s goodness in our life. The thanksgiving offertory is an opportunity to sow in appreciation of what He has done in your life with the knowledge that when the New Year unfolds your seed of gratitude will grow into a tree of value and worth and thereby bless your family and the people you meet. Trees will grow when people are prepared to plant. You cannot out give God. Neither can you compare your gift with His unspeakable gift. So start planting now for next year’s harvest. What you sow you reap – 2 Corinthians 9:6.

Consider what people spend on themselves and their friends at Christmas time and ask yourself if your thanksgiving gift is a seed that will grow because it’s given in gratitude and joy or do you begrudge the giving of the gift? Spiritual maturity is often reflected in our attitude of giving.

Join us in investing in God’s divine “enterprise” and be blessed. Give thanks with a grateful generous spirit. God loves a cheerful giver – 2 Corinthians 9:7.
